I just got my first look at the Environment File, vol 1. I can handle the fortran array layout. What does the data mean?
The environment file is reflection data of a small area of the Earth called seismic data. Seismic data allows us, just like an ultrasound, to “see” different rock layers and structures in the subsurface. Here’s a high level overview of the data, how it is collected, and how it is used by geoscientists.
